The pillars of exemplary patient service

by Shweta Ramkumar

The idea of Healthy Dynamics had initially popped into my head in 2015 when I was embarking upon the digital nomad laptop lifestyle, which gave me the flexibility and freedom to work from anywhere in the world. Back in the day, I was too scared, distracted and constantly procrastinating to work seriously on it. However, it never stopped me from binging on Youtube videos of people who have built successful yet meaningful digital online businesses. It led me to discover my current business mentor Lydia Lee, who guided me on the principles and foundations of re-inventing meaningful work from our genius zones, and it led to me putting the pieces of the puzzle together to build a strong business framework.

While her support and guidance has been both indispensable and instrumental, the credit for giving my business its true essence would absolutely have to go to my current radiology job. Before that, everything I knew about healthcare was very theoretical and textbook-like. My everyday interaction with patients in my job (which found me rather than vice versa) has exposed me to the real gaps in patient care and communication, areas of service in healthcare where they feel frustrated or disappointed and their feedback has given me the foundational basics that I use in coaching my clients.

I’ve put together below some of the core principles of effective communication with patients I have learnt in my radiology job so far that I post content about and coach my clients on. Due to privacy and confidentiality reasons, I will not be able to post our company’s service standards and communication templates, but these can serve as a solid basis no matter what field of healthcare you work in that involve interaction with patients that you can incorporate to provide them exceptional care and service.

Hi, I'm Shweta

I coach non-native English speaking healthcare professionals how to advance in their career and build better relationships with their patients and colleagues by expressing themselves more articulately and confidently in the English language.

I work closely with healthcare professionals who work with patients regularly. I help them improve their communication skills when interacting with patients and colleagues, teach them how to show up authentically, assertively and articulately in their field of work in order for them to ultimately gain credibility, validation and respect.

If you work in a clinical role in the healthcare industry and would like to learn more about how to better connect and communicate openly with your clients / patients, book a complimentary 30 minute discovery call with me to see how I can best support you.
